Shriram General Insurance Company (SGI) has introduced an enhanced health insurance solution, Shri Health Suraksha 2.0, aimed at addressing growing gaps in traditional medical coverage and reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for policyholders.
Announced on March 10, the indemnity-based health insurance plan offers a range of customer-centric features designed to provide greater financial protection during medical emergencies.
One of the key highlights of Shri Health Suraksha 2.0 is the removal of standard restrictions on room rent and ICU charges, allowing policyholders to choose hospital facilities based on medical requirements rather than pre-defined cost limits.
The policy also introduces an unlimited restoration benefit, enabling the insured sum to be automatically replenished any number of times within the same policy year after exhaustion. This feature ensures continuous coverage even during multiple hospitalizations.
To further ease the financial burden on customers, the plan follows a “No Co-payment” structure, under which the insurer covers the full admissible claim amount without requiring mandatory cost-sharing from the insured.
The enhanced product also offers a cumulative bonus of up to 250% for claim-free years, rewarding policyholders with increased coverage over time. Additional benefits include coverage for medical consumables, expanded transportation benefits covering both road and air ambulance services up to the sum insured, and protection for AYUSH treatments alongside modern medical procedures.
With healthcare costs continuing to rise, Shri Health Suraksha 2.0 aims to provide comprehensive and flexible protection, helping individuals and families access quality healthcare without worrying about financial limitations.
